밴드 Dragon Pony (드래곤포니)가 2024년 9월 26일 첫 EP 앨범 [POP UP]으로 본격 데뷔하며 음악씬에 새로운 등장을 알린다.

 

앨범 [POP UP]은 올해 초부터 라이브 클립을 통해 선공개 된 ‘모스부호’, ‘꼬리를 먹는 뱀’, ‘Traffic Jam’, ‘Pity Punk’와 새로운 타이틀곡 ‘POP UP’을 포함, 총 5곡으로 구성되어 있다.

 

첫 번째 트랙이자 타이틀곡인 ‘POP UP’은 비주류 소년의 뜨거운 외침을 담은 곡으로 곧게 설계된 길을 가거나 사회가 정한 기준에 맞추지 않겠다는 드래곤포니의 자전적인 메세지가 담겨있다. 시작이 완벽하지도 또 다음 걸음이 어디로 향할지 알 수 없지만, 불안과 두려움을 기꺼이 껴안고 일단 즐겁게 노래하고 춤추자는 자유로운 외침이 전해진다.

 

또한 이번 앨범에는 기본에 가장 충실한 밴드 구성을 기반으로 탄탄하게 쌓아 올린 입체적인 사운드를 통해 ‘락’이라는 장르적 핵심을 안정적으로 유지하는 드래곤포니만의 강점이 고스란히 담겨져있다.

 

청량하고 서정적인 톤의 ‘모스부호’와 ‘Traffic Jam’에서 사랑 앞에 미숙하고 솔직한 보통의 소년들의 모습을 보여주는 반면, ‘Pity Punk’에서는 이별 후 낙심을 쏟아낸 애절한 펑크를, ‘꼬리를 먹는 뱀’에서는 진취적이고 묵직한 비판의 메세지를 전달하며 강렬한 락 사운드를 느끼게 한다.

 

멤버 모두가 메인 프로듀서로서 전곡 작사 작곡 편곡을 완성시키며 음악적 가치를 높인 첫 데뷔 앨범 [POP UP]은 드래곤포니 그 자체로 빛을 발하는 자체 동력의 이미지를 각인하며 밴드만의 자유롭고 에너제틱한 행보를 거침없이 이어갈 예정이다.

Shipping Guide
