“많은 일이 있었죠. 여러 감정선이 엇갈려 흐르기도 했고요. 그렇게 하루, 한 달, 한 해를 보낼수록 그때는 맞았지만 지금의 나에겐 너무나 틀릴 수 있구나, 혹은 그 반대의 경우를 생각하는 게 잦아졌습니다. 

궁금했어요, 제 안에 변화가 찾아오고 이 변화들로 인해 무엇이 바뀌어 갈지. ‘성찰’이라는 단어의 사전적 의미는 ‘자신이 한 일을 깊이 되돌아보는 일’입니다. 
앨범 작업이 본격화되기 전, 성찰을 하고자 노력했습니다. 글을 적고 곡을 완성하면서 성찰과 동시에 먼 미래의 제 가치에 대한 우려를 저울에 올려놓았습니다. 
그 어느 쪽으로도 치우치지 않도록 주의를 기울였습니다. 
지옥 같던 유년 시절 역시 똑바로 바라보려고 노력했습니다. 트라우마의 원흉이라 결론지었던 시절들이 사실은 그냥 지나간 시간이라고 느끼게 된 거예요. 

그렇게 9곡이 탄생했습니다. 
이 친구들이 스스로 두 발로 버티고 서서 많은 분들과 만나길 희망합니다. 이 곡들을 통해 저의 울적함, 환희, 두려움, 행복, 그 모든 것을 여러분들과 공유하면 좋겠습니다. 
그런 음반이어야만 하구요. 

앨범명 역시 그렇게 이름 붙여지게 되었습니다.
C는 Car, the garden을 뜻하기도, Cigarette을 뜻하기도, Christmas를 뜻하기도 합니다. 제가 좋아하는 것들이 알파벳 C라는 교집합을 가지고 있다는 것이 꽤 재밌었습니다. 

네, 맞습니다. 지독하게 주관적이고 이기적인 음반입니다. 그런 이야기들로 꾸려져있습니다.”
